Taxi Stand Enclosure Project at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport
Dear Mr. Stage;
We have reviewed the bids submitted on September 30, 2015 for the above referenced project and
have prepared the attached Bid Tabulation for your use. The County had a total of three (3) bidders
for this project.
Lord & Son Construction, Inc. $228,950.00
Cathey Construction and Development $234,353.00
Dalton Brothers, Inc. $151,643.00
Dalton Brothers, Inc., has been determined to be the low bidder, submitting a total bid in the amount
of $151,643.00 including alternate 1 for the epoxy flooring. Details of their bid are listed below:
o History- Dalton Brothers, Inc. offers nearly thirty years of construction expertise. They are
licensed as a Certified General Contractor with their principle place of business in Fort Walton
Beach, FL.
o Bid Conditions- Their Base Bid was $149,243.00 and the Alternate Bid for the epoxy flooring was
$2,400.00.
In general all required forms were submitted including bid bond, acknowledgment of addenda, and a
current General Contractor’s license. In Michael Baker’s review, we found no major unbalanced unit
prices and no irregularities with the bids received.
It is our opinion that the Dalton Brothers, Inc. bid is complete and responsive, subject to evaluation
and acceptance of the anomalies noted above, and the DBE participation by County Purchasing.
Pending this evaluation, Michael Baker recommends award of the contract to Dalton Brothers, Inc. in
the amount of $151,643.00. This recommendation is contingent upon the Okaloosa County’s
approval; the purchasing department review; and the availability of funds.
