They promote teamwork, leadership and discipline with an emphasis on leading a drug free lifestyle. Our unit is 4 years old and this will be our first ever 5k race in an effort to support our local Children in Crisis. Our thoughts are that many of the kids sheltered by Children in Crisis are torn out of their homes due to parental drug use and one of our missions is to encourage people NOT to use drugs so we thought this would be a great partnership. Kids helping kids closing the gate on drugs is our mantra for this race and we are excited to be able to help. This letter is to request a public even permit. We are going to hold our race starting behind Winn Dixie in Bluewater heading Right on Merchants Way, take a Left onto Bluewater Blvd then a Right onto Range Rd running under the overpass, turning around and returning on the same roads. We have already gained permission from Major Greg Gaddis and the posse is on board to monitor our event. Enclosed is a copy of our certiflcate of liability insurance and my notarized copy of the hold harmless agreement signed by myself. | was told by the instructor that because we are not collecting funds at an intersection that we would ‘not need the firefighter safety course so | did not include that waiver.
