RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, Okaloosa County has heretofore waived the
requirement for an annual application or statement for certain
exemptions to property taxes allowed after the initial
application is made and the exemption granted in accordance with
the provisions of Section 196.011, Florida Statutes, and
WHEREAS, the Okaloosa County Property Appraiser has
submitted a request for an updated waiver to include past
exemptions granted, and a report on the possibility of
fraudulent exemption claims, and
WHEREAS, the Board has considered the convenience that
waiving the filing of the annual exemption would mean to the
citizens of Okaloosa County, as well as the possibility of
fraudulent claims.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA:
Okaloosa County does hereby waive the requirement that an
annual application or statement be made for exemption of
property within the county after an initial application is made
and the exemption granted in accordance with the provisions of
Section 196.011 (9), Florida Statutes.
DULY PASSED AND ADOPTED in regular session this the 3rd day
of November, 2013.
