Including the City of Fort Walton Beach, there are 10 different fire departments located in southern Okaloosa County, Florida. Nc of these departments have enough on -duty personnel or resources to safely address major fires and emergencies without assistance from other surrounding departments. A regional automatic aid system is used on a daily basis to provide adequate numbers of firefighting personnel on the scene of activated alarms, reported fires, and other types of manpower intensive emergencies. Therefore, any resources obtained by this fire department, such as the items identified in this 2011 grant, will be utilized by our personnel in multiple fire department jurisdictions throughout southern Okaloosa County; benefiting more than jus the residents and visitors within the City of Fort Walton Beach. m 3.
