The City Manager stated he and the Finance Director visited the Sheriff and informed him the City would provide him a Statement of Work, which was submitted to the Sheriffyesterday. The Sheriff contacted the City Manager and stated he would not release a proposal until it is distributed to the City Council, at which time it can be distributed at the discretion of Council. The City Manager stated he wants to make sure that Council gets what it wants, whether it is a proposal or a comparison statement of work. Another issue to consider is the impact on the police pension plan. The Finance Director explained the actuarial process and the cost, which would be between $ 5, 000 to $ 8, 000, at City expense, and would take two to three months to prepare.
