Mr.
Harris, to approve the ad valorem tax exemption for Project
UpUnder. Mr. Windes suggested “splitting the baby a bit” and
asked for consideration to be given to lowering the percentage
of abatement to 80% or 90%. He acknowledged the taxes which
will be paid to the School District, parks, fire district, etc.
but stated the county cannot use those taxes. Mr. Amunds said
he understands the Board can decide on length of abatement but
not percentage. Mr. Dowd confirmed that is correct. 4 yeas,
1 nay (Mr. Boyles voting no).
ORDINANCE NO. 13-11
CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL
Mr. Harris said he would like to discuss Item #3. Mr. Boyles
announced he will need to abstain on Item #13. Mr. Harris asked
for his earlier comment to be disregarded. He then made motion,
seconded by Mr. Parisot, to approve Items #1 through #17,
excluding #13. Mr. Harris amended his motion, seconded by Mr.
Parisot, to approve Items #1 through #12 and #14 through #17. 5
yeas. Mr. Harris then made motion, seconded by Mr. Parisot, to
approve Item #13. 4 yeas, 1 abstained (Mr. Boyles abstained).
