BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 19, 2013
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Elliot Kampert
SUBJECT: Appointment of County Representative to Tri-County Community Council
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Elliot Kampert of Growth Management as the
Okaloosa County representative on the Tri-County Community Council Board of Directors for
the 2014 term.
BACKGROUND: The Tri-county Community Council is a community action agency serving
Bay, Holmes, Jackson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington counties. The Council is
required to have a Board of Directors with representatives from government, business, and low-
income areas. Although a county commissioner often fills the role of representative to the
council, the Council's by-laws allow the Board to appoint a designee to represent the
commission. The Department of Economic Opportunity (formerly Department of Community
Affairs as identified in the attached letter) requires that the Tri-County Community Council
receive all appointments in writing. The necessary letter of appointment is attached.
OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Appoint Elliot Kampert as the Okaloosa County representative on
the Tri-County Community Council Board of Directors.

APPROVED BY:
Ernie Padgett, County Administrator
