BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 4, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Oak Hill Road Drainage Easement DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 1 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff has been working to obtain permanent and temporary easements along Oak Hill Road for the needed repairs and mitigation improvements from the spring 2014 storm event. BACKGROUND: In April 2014, the County experienced a 100-year storm event that severely washed out Oak Hill Road at the Davis Mill creek crossing. Landowners on both sides of the roadway were asked to donate permanent drainage easements as well as temporary construction easements to facilitate the road and creek crossing repairs. At this time, the Jordan’s have granted the County the necessary easements on the west side of Oak Hill Road. The design consultant, Preble-Rish, Inc., is making plan adjustments in an effort to eliminate the need for additional easements on the east side of the road. Staff anticipates being able to release the project for bids by the end of August. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the acceptance and recording of permanent and temporary easements for the Oak Hill Road repairs and mitigation improvements.
