STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Seeking Board approval to purchase two (2) 14 cubic yard heavy
duty dump trucks from Orlando Freightliner for the Public Works Department.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Bids were opened on February 5, 2014 to purchase two (2)
heavy duty 14 cubic yard dump trucks and 6 bids were received. The lowest responsive bid,
meeting specifications, was from Orlando Freightliner for a total of $185,418. Purchasing is
seeking Board approval to purchase the two dump trucks from Orlando Freightliner as the lowest
responsive bid. A bid sheet is attached to this agenda item to reflect all bids received. The
Public Works department has funding approved in the FY14 budget for the purchase.
OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove purchase of two (2) heavy duty dump trucks from Orlando
Freightliner.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approving purchase of two (2) heavy duty dump
trucks from Orlando Freightliner.
