Packet Pg. 181 8/ 1/ 2011  0 1 RESOLUTION 2011 -24 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, 4 FLORIDA, ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FUNDING THROUGH THE 5 FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND THE OKALOOSA 6 COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR THE BURNETTE AVENUE 7 BIORETENTION PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY 8 MANAGER TO EXECUTE GRANT DOCUMENTS; AUTHORIZING 9 THE ENGINEERING & UTILITY SERVICES DIRECTOR TO 10 OVERSEE THE PROJECT; AUTHORIZING A BUDGET 11 AMENDMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 12 13 WHEREAS, The Okaloosa County Health Department ( OCHD) through the Florida 14 Department of Health' s PACE ( Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in 15 Environmental Health) Program provides funding for community projects that improve 16 environmental health.; and 17 18 WHEREAS, the City has an existing agreement with OCHD for a project total of 19 8, 000 ($ 8, 000 grant funds and $ 0 City match) for the Barnette Avenue Bioretention Project 20 identified in the Gap Creek Water Quality Improvement Study; and 21 22 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens of 23 Fort Walton Beach to continue participation in the PACE Program by extending the project 24 deadline and increasing the funding amount to $ 10, 000 total. 25 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 27 OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT: 28 29 SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute grant 30 documents as needed and to execute all necessary documents to complete grant- related 31 purchases. 32 33 SECTION 2. The Engineering & Utility Services Director is to implement, 34 supervise, and manage the initiative pursuant to City purchasing policies and procedures and 35 Florida law; and a budget amendment to record the grant. 36 37 Amends Budget Account for Grant Funds: 38 Revenue Exuense 39 405 -1583- 334 -3600 $ 2, 000 405- 1583 -538 -6355 $ 2, 000 40 41 SECTION 3.
