RE: Permitting for Crown Castle Tower Rebuild
Dear Mr. Kampert:
Request your assistance in obtaining approval for Crown Castle, the tower owner for the tower site located at
4901 Nelson Point Road in Niceville, to rebuild a new tower on the current site. The current tower is aging and
would be best-suited for replacement on site rather than structurally trying to reinforce the tower.
This is a critical site for the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) and for the Okaloosa subscribers
using SLERS for law enforcement and first responder communications. The tower site provides critical radio
coverage for radio subscribers in southern Okaloosa County, including but not limited to the Niceville, Valparaiso,
Destin and the Okaloosa Island area, and southeastern Walton County. The site was selected due to its ability to
provide coverage to these areas. Any need to relocate or build a tower further to the north would adversely
impact the radio coverage and the safety of law enforcement, public safety officials and general population of this
area.
Please consider this request for expedited approval and let us know what questions we may answer to assist in
securing the approval needed.
