IV. Public Comment (3 minutes each)
Mr. Craul requested an update on the bus wraps. Mr. Schroeder replied the wraps are limited to the cab on
the bus as the rest is to be used for other advertising. Mr. Craul feels the TDC should also be considered as
an advertiser. Mr. Schroeder stated there is a role for the TDC, as it can produce the wraps locally and
change them frequently.
Chairman Peterson asked about the wave at the Mid Bay Bridge. Mr. Schroeder replied the Bridge
Authority is working with Peter Bos to include space for the TDC, and working through issues with the
DOT modifications.
Mr. Guidry asked if Allegiant Airlines is still coming here as he has not seen any advertising. Mr.
Schroeder noted there will be a press conference on the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport on March 8,
2016 at 10:00 AM with an Allegiant Airlines announcement. He encouraged all attendees to be at the
press conference if possible.
Mr. Ray Green, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, requested clarification as to whether the TDC
Council will allocate $75,000 to the City of Destin for law enforcement during spring break. Mr. Green
commended the Council on its approval of the Chris Janson Concert and allocation of 50% of the tickets to
local lodgings. He looks forward to similar future events.
Mr. Martin Owen noted one way to solve the request to transport underage drinkers to Crestview would be
to invoice, just as County EMS bills the user for its services provided.
Ms. Patti Defrenza presented her opinion regarding the Destin Fire Department and requested no funding
be given to them.
