Change Order No.1 DEPARTMENT: Water and Sewer BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Approve Change Order No. 1 to add 60 days to the contract for the rehabilitation of the electrical systems in manholes at the Russell Stephenson Wastewater Reclamation Facility. BACKGROUND: The work covered under this contract is for the rehabilitation of the electrical systems in manholes at the Russell Stephenson Water Reclamation Facility. This change order is for an extension of time from 90 days to 150 days on contract C14-2145-WS ending June 11, 2014. There are no monetary changes. The change order request was initiated, executed, and submitted to Purchasing in a timely manner under the assumption that the Purchasing Manager could sign it. However, as stated in the Purchasing Manual, the completion date must be less than 60 days for the Purchasing Manager to sign, and this was not realized until after the deadline; therefore, BCC approval is needed. The reason for the 60 day extension is weather delays. OPTIONS: Approve or deny. RECOMMENDATIONS: OCWS requests BCC approval to authorize the Chairman to execute Bill Smith Electric, Inc. Change Order No. 1, extending the original contract from 90 days to 150 days, and approval of payment on any expenses incurred since June 11th, 2014.
