BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 17, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: State of the Beach Presentation DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Taylor Engineering to provide an informational update on the state of Okaloosa County and City of Destin beaches. BACKGROUND: Okaloosa County and the City of Destin, by way of interlocal agreement C07-1430-TDI-80 adopted in 2006, have directed the Tourist Development Council (COUNCIL) "...to prepare and execute an overall plan for the protection and renourishment of the Gulf coastal beaches and dunes within the geographical limits of Okaloosa County, including management and preservation components and the establishment of long term dedicated funding and staffing for these joint efforts." Taylor Engineering presented this annual update to the Destin City Council on December 1, 2014 and made a similar presentation to the Tourist Development Council at its November 20, 2014 meeting.
