BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: July 21, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Approval of Task Order for Transportation Disadvantaged Trip & Equipment Grant DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Growth Management requests the Board to approve Task Order 63 with Okaloosa County Transit (OCT) for reimbursement of operating costs. BACKGROUND: Task Order Number 63 states that the County will reimburse OCT for operating costs for the operation of transportation services rendered. The Transportation Disadvantaged Trip & Equipment grant application was approved by the Board on July 7th, 2015 in the amount of $464,919+$27 and an additional $51,658 of local funds to be collected entirely through farebox revenues. Due to the pending expiration of the contract with OCT, the Task Order specifically states that OCT may only receive payment through this task order for services rendered prior to September 30, 2015 unless Contract C03-0927-GM is extended. No general revenue funds were needed as local match. OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove the Task Order request to allow for reimbursement of operating expenses to OCT for Transportation Disadvantaged services rendered. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Department recommends that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the task order for reimbursement of Transportation Disadvantaged operating costs to Okaloosa County Transit.
