BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 19, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - National Day of Prayer 2016 DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 1 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Crestview Area Ministerial Association is requesting a Public Event Permit to hold the local Day of Prayer at the Okaloosa County Courthouse property in Crestview. BACKGROUND: The event will be held Thursday May 5, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Staff has discussed the request with the association and made it clear that the facility can not be accessed and all activities would need to occur on the lawn. If approved this event will not impact ongoing activities related to the Courthouse Reconstruction project. This request has been approved by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office and Public Safety. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove the Public Event Permit for the National Day of Prayer. RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the National Day of Prayer event as submitted by the Crestview Area Ministerial Association. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
