Howard,
After inspection, I have determined that the 2'x4' led lay in lights at the Visitor's Center have 2 defects.
One is a manufacturer defect in the lenses. Lense replacement should fix this issue. Bubbles and raised
areas on the back of the lenses make them appear dirty. The other is a design flaw that makes shadow
lines appear on the diffuser lenses. This is an optical illusion that will persist even after a like-for-like
replacement. There is nothing that can be done to fix this issue.
These are the lights as requested and specified by the architectural firm. It is my recommendation and
professional opinion that they should be replaced with a different model. It is also requested that the
Architect meet with me on site to show this issue, first hand.
We are requesting our labor be covered for this replacement as these are the lights specified.
Sincerely,
Jason R. Grubb
