Greg,
That is correct and it is required by Florida law. Section 125.0104, (4)(e), F.S., states in pertinent part as
follows: "The governing body of each county...shall appoint an advisory council to be known as the Tourist
Development Council. The council shall be established by ordinance and composed of nine members who
shall be appointed by the governing board." Therefore, Mr. Foreman's appointment to the TDC will need to
be presented to the BCC at the January 19th meeting for confirmation.

Ed: Pursuant to our telephone call yesterday and Councilman Tuffy Dixon’s resignation from being the
City of Destin’s representative to the Okaloosa County TDD/TDC, please accept this e‐mail as
confirmation that Councilman Jim Foreman will be the City’s replacement representative to the
TDD/TDC. Councilman Foreman was appointed as an alternate to the TDD/TDC by the City Council in
2014. Councilman Foreman will be in attendance at the TDD/TDC meeting on January
13th. Councilman Forman’s e‐mail address is jforeman@cityofdestin.com.
I understand by receipt of this e‐mail that Councilman Foreman will have full voting rights as the other
members. Let me know if this is not the case.
