BACKGROUND:
City Council approved the Fiscal Year 2005- 2006 budget for the Residential
Rehabilitation Program in June 2004. The program is available to low- and very- low
income residents within the City of Fort Walton Beach, with a maximum grant amount
limited to $25, 000.00. The grant is secured by placing a lien upon the property.
The scope of work and renovation specification was provided by A +Home Inspection
Services in accordance with their contract with the City. R. S. Rhoades Remodeling
submitted the low bid of $23, 5 14.00 for the scope of services to rehab 19 Jackson Street.
SUMMARY:
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Section 2- 266, Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Ft. Walton
Beach Code of Ordinances, staff requests authorization to award the contract for
rehabilitation services to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, R . S. Rhoades
Remodeling. The contract amount is not to exceed $ 23, 514. 00.
Ifapproved, sufficient funds are available from account # 107- 1930- 554- 5207.
Staff recommends that City Council approve the contract with R.S. Rhoades.
