STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board is requested to approve World Fiber Technologies, Inc.
Task Order 3 on Contract #C16-2354-IT in the amount not to exceed $100,000.00 for
maintenance/repair of the fiber optic system.
BACKGROUND: The Board has an existing contract with World Fiber Technologies, Inc. for
the maintenance and repair of the fiber optic system. This task order is necessary to provide for
increased requests for fiber at new County locations, Emergency Response Level I, II, or III as
necessary to react quickly to scheduled or unscheduled fiber optic outages, furnishing and
installing 2” conduit, pull boxes, splice enclosures, fiber optic cable, terminations, splices and
troubleshooting and any other related materials, equipment or labor to properly maintain or
extend the county fiber optic network on an as-needed basis.
This task order has been through the Purchasing review process and funding is available in the
Fiber Optic Telecommunications and Fiber Capital budgets.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Task Order 3, in the
amount not to exceed $100,000.00 with World Fiber Technologies, Inc. Contract #C16-2354-IT
for the Information Technology Department.
