BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: February 17, 2015
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Sunil Harman
SUBJECT: FAA Memorandum of Agreement No. DTFAEN-15-L-00147
DEPARTMENT: Airport
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board is asked to approve a proposed Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) Memorandum of Agreement No. DTFAEN-15-L-00147, which combines
four current separate lease agreements at the Bob Sikes Airport.
BACKGROUND: Okaloosa County's Department of Airports and the FAA currently have four
Lease Agreements concerning navigational aids, no cost land leases and other service terms at
the Bob Sikes Airport. The FAA has requested that Okaloosa County, use the new format for a
Memorandum of Agreement to combine the four leases, DTFA06-01-L-03354, DOTFA82SO-
12977, DTFA06-98-L-17661, and DTFA06-98-L-17662.
The FAA believes the new process will save time and money and will benefit both parties by not
requiring legal descriptions and reduce the volume of redundant and wasteful paperwork. The
contract and lease internal coordination sheet is attached.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board approve the proposed Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) Memorandum of Agreement No. DTFAEN-15-L-00147, which
combines four current separate lease agreements at the Bob Sikes Airport.
