BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: July 19, 2016
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Zan Fedorak
SUBJECT: Request approval of the First Amendment to the HDR Engineering Inc.
Contract
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing
BCC DISTRICT: ALL
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Renewal and First Amendment to the HDR
Engineering, Inc. (C14-2078-PW)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On October 3, 2013 the Board approved a contract with
HDR Engineering, Inc. for engineering consulting services. The contract will expire on
September 30, 2016, however, it allows for three (3) one (1) year renewals. HDR Engineering,
Inc. has agreed to a one (1) year renewal to extend the expiration date through September 30,
2017. Recent legislative action requires that language regarding public records request be added
to all contracts that will be valid after July 1, 2016. Staff is incorporating the language as an
amendment and including the contract renewal option within the document. Staff requests Board
authorization for the Chairman to sign the amendment.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the First Amendment to the HDR Engineering, Inc. contract for
engineering consulting services and authorize Chairman to sign the amendment.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the First Amendment to the HDR
Engineering, Inc. contract for engineering consulting services and authorize Chairman to sign the
amendment.
