BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 16, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Public Hearing to vacate right-of-way DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: A request for the vacation of the existing alleyway located within Block 6 of Bay View Subdivision submitted by CPH, Incorporated. BACKGROUND: A commercial development is being proposed for the entire Block 6 of Bay View Subdivision in Fort Walton Beach. A County maintained alleyway runs through the center of this block, connecting to South Street NE. and 1st Avenue. In order to meet the design requirements of the proposed development, the lot owners of Block 6 would like to request the Board of County Commissioners approve an alleyway vacation without stipulations except to require coordination with utility companies in relocating existing infrastructure at the owner's cost. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the alleyway vacation request. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the vacation of alleyway through Block 6 of Bay View Subdivision as requested by petitioner.
