BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: May 7, 2013 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Daniel O'Byrne SUBJECT: TDD Expenditure Recap; thru 2nd Quarter 2012-2013 DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: As required by Florida Statute 125.0104 (4) (e) and pursuant to the Tourist Development Council Bylaws and Tourist Development Department Operations & Procedures Manual, revised and adopted on March 19, 2013, the Tourist Development Council shall continuously review expenditures of revenues from the tourist development trust fund, and shall receive, at least quarterly, expenditure reports from the county governing board or its designee. This was done at the April 25, 2013 meeting of the Okaloosa County Tourist Development Council. BACKGROUND: TDD expenditures thru March 31, 2013 (2 fiscal quarters) were received from the Clerk's office and formatted by TDD staff into two (2) distinct reports: a summary report by bed tax "penny" (essentially the "level of restriction" as required by Ordinance) plus the special assessments collected within the Municipal Services Benefit Unit; and a detailed report by approved budget line item. Both of these reports were presented to the Council in advance of their April 25 meeting, reviewed by the Council at the meeting, and unanimously approved. RECOMMENDATIONS: Provide additional direction as necessary. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: Ernie Padgett, County Administrator
