E. How much time are you willing to give to this volunteer position? As much time as it takes
to get the job done properly__Hrs per week/month
F. Why do you want to be a member of the Okaloosa RESTORE Advisory Committee?
I have the education, skill set, business experience and time necessary to competently and
objectively evaluate projects submitted. My business experience largely consisted of
developing and comparing capital projects on economic and business fundamentals. I
would like to contribute my talents to the team that prepares recommendations for the
- Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners. I believe my involvement can_
enhance the possibility any RESTORE Act funds received are spent in a thoroughly
vetted and fiscally responsible manner, with projects compared in a businesslike manner
on_a level playing field.
- Lwas a member of a group of citizens who opposed Okaloosa County BCC's significant
weakening of the strict ethics clause from the draft ORAC membership charter. Since the
BCC voted to weaken the strict ethics clause requirement from committee membership,
and thus the committee will largely be filled with members having significant conflicts of
interest, it is essential ORAC include one or more members with watchdog credentials to
enhance the credibility of committee recommendations.
G. If not selected for the ORAC, are you willing to serve on a Working Group? _ Yes _X No
I have repeatedly declared I believe this committee needs to operate in the Sunshine.
Working Groups are a way around the Sunshine Law.
H. I certify that all information in this application is true and accurate. I authorize County staff to verify any
information as they deem necessary and to contact the references I have provided. I also understand that this is a
voluntary (unpaid) position and that I will serve at the will of the Board of County Commissioners. I further
acknowledge that the ORAC falls under the Florida Sunshine Laws (e.g., I cannot discuss ORAC business with
other ORAC members outside a public meeting) and Public Records Laws and I will comply with those
requirements (ORAC members will be briefed on these requirements by the County Attorney).
