BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: February 16, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Rick Owen SUBJECT: Non-profit disbursement approval DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to provide funding disbursements to list of budgeted non-profit organizations. BACKGROUND: The Board has provided funding to various non-profit organizations in the past and included funding in the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget for the following list of entities: Safe Connections (formerly Judge Ben Gordon Visit Center) Baker Block Museum Carver Hill Museum Destin Fishing Museum Heritage Museum Shelter House Okaloosa County Head Start Elder Services Early Learning Coalition (formerly Okaloosa-Walton Child Care Services) 90 Works (formerly Child Protection Team) At the March 17, 2015 BCC meeting, the Board approved a policy that included, in part, a requirement that the Board approve all non-profit organizations that request funding. In order for the above listed entities to receive budgeted disbursements, the Board must formally approve each to comply with this policy. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove list of non-profit organizations. RECOMMENDATION: Request approval to provide funding disbursements to list of budgeted non-profit organizations.
