BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: Destin Interlocal for Parks Maint & Capital DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the Interlocal Agreement for Waterfront Access Maintenance and Capital Improvements with the City of Destin for the period October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. BACKGROUND: The City of Destin provides gulf front parks, beach accessways, and a harbor boardwalk frequented by tourists. Similar services in the unincorporated area are funded with tourist development tax revenues as an essential component of promoting the sub-county taxing district. The adopted FY 2016 budget includes $290,477 for annual maintenance costs and $112,030 for one-time capital costs. Payment will be issued on a reimbursement basis. The Tourist Development Council approved this agreement at its September 24 meeting. OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Interlocal Agreement for Waterfront Access Maintenance and Capital Improvements with the City of Destin in an amount not to exceed $402,507 for the period October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.
