WHEREAS, the City of Fort Beach, Florida(" City") owns certain property known as the former City Ballfields property located on Lewis Turner Boulevard, and more particularly described as follows: The southern 1. 85+/- acre portion of Tax Parcel 26- 1S- 24- 0000- 0001- 0030 below the Fire Training Center and as generally shown within Appendix B of this Resolution—" Property Exchange Agreement" (" City Property"). WHEREAS, the County and City will obtain surveys and legal descriptions for each of the properties above as set forth in the attached Property Exchange Agreement; and WHEREAS, the County Property is no longer needed for County purposes; and WHEREAS, the acquisition of the City Property, combined with the County' s previous purchase of the former Fairground property from the City, would expand the overall amenities of the Rigdon Center Complex and would serve a greater County and public purpose. In exchange the City will receive the County Property which it can utilize as part of its redevelopment plans for the CRA Midtown Area of the City; and WHEREAS, the values of the County Property and the City Property are comparable, when situational facts and property liabilities are considered; and 1  WHEREAS, a notice setting forth the terms and conditions of this property exchange was published once per week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation within Okaloosa County, the proof of publication which is attached hereto as Appendix A; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to exchange these Properties. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUTNY, FLORIDA as follows: SECTION 1. RECITALS. The above recitals are true and are incorporated herein. SECTION 2. APPROVAL OF THE PROPERTY EXCHANGE AGREEMENT. The Property Exchange Agreement between Okaloosa County, Florida and Fort Walton Beach, Florida, submitted to this duly called public meeting and attached hereto as Appendix B, is hereby approved. The Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners is hereby authorized to execute the Property Exchange Agreement. SECTION 3. AUTHORITY TO CLOSE; APPROVAL OF CONVEYANCE DOCUMENTS.
