NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida, on March 18, 2014 at 9:00 A.M., or soon thereafter, at the County Commissioners meeting room, Water & Sewer Annex, 1804 Lewis Turner Blvd., 3" Floor, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida will hold a public meeting to discuss the County’s proposal to construct the Newcastle Area Water System Improvements Project using Okaloosa County Water and Sewer Department (OCWS) staff and equipment. The purpose of the public meeting is to consider whether it is in the public’s best interest to perform the project using the local government’s own services, employees, and equipment. The scope of work generally consists of the construction of new water mains (totaling approximately 2 miles in length) and the installation of new fire hydrants. The estimated cost of the design-build project using OCWS staff is $450,000.00. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND BE HEARD REGARDING THE PUBLIC MEETING. The proposal and cost estimate breakdown may be inspected by the public at Okaloosa County Water & Sewer, 1804 Lewis Turner Blvd., 3" floor, Engineering Office, 850-651-7504. If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at these hearings, such person will need a record of the proceeding and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Okaloosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the Water & Sewer offices described above and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the hearings in order to provide the requested service.
