STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of payment in the amount of $195.00 to Florida
Society of Association Executives (FSAE) for the 2014-2015 Resource Directory Listing.
BACKGROUND: Resource is FSAE’s comprehensive guide for executives of Florida
associations who are planning a meeting. A directory listing complements efforts to market and
advertise to meeting planners to increase tourist-related business activities. FSAE is identified in
the destination team section of the Strategic Marketing Plan adopted by BCC on May 6, 2014.
The insertion order dated in April states “may be paid by check or credit card.” However, when
payment was attempted by credit card after publication and receipt of the invoice in August, the
vendor informed staff that payment could not be accepted by credit card. At this point, there is
no method to pay the vendor in accordance with County purchasing policy. Board approval is
requested to pay the vendor.
OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove
RECOMMENDATION: Approve payment in the amount of $195.00 to Florida Society of
Association Executives for the 2014-2015 Resource Directory Listing.
