STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Airports requests approval by the Board of
County Commissioners for a lease termination with North Light Yacht Sales and Service, LLC at
the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) for the display of a new boat on a trailer.
BACKGROUND: On August 5, 2014, the Board approved the License Agreement for North
Light Yacht Sales and Service, LLC to display a new boat on a trailer with marketing signage
relating to boat sales in the baggage claim area of the Airport. North Light has not displayed a
boat for the past two months. A letter to cure was mailed to North Light on April 24, 2015 with
a thirty day suspense. North Light responded with a letter dated April 30, 2015 stating that
North Light Yacht Club is no longer in the boat sales business and is requesting to terminate
their Lease effective May 30, 2015.
OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve the lease
termination of North Light Yacht Sales and Service, LLC as stated above.
