A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T IE CITY OF FORT WALTON
BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR
BROWNFIELD SITE ASSESSMENT FUNDiNG FOR A PROPERTY LOCATED AT 203
BAYOU WOODS DRIVE NW, FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Walton Beach has determined that it should be proactive in
the restoration of environmentally impaired sites to productive and beneficial use; and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection ( FDEP) and the
United States Environmental Protection Agency( tJS EPA) provide grants to communities for the
assessment of environmentally contaminated properties; and
WHEREAS, the grant applicant will consist of the City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida,
who will serve as the grant recipient and administrator.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Recitals.
The foregoing " WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true,
and correct and incorporated into this Resolution.
2. Support of the Brownfield Site Assessment Grant Submittal.
The City Council hereby supports the above described process and believes the
Brownfield area warrants economic development and has a reasonable potential for
such activities.
3. Effective Date.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption by City Council and
execution by the Mayor.
