FROM: Ed Schroeder
SUBJECT: Public Hearing Request - TDT Ordinance Amendment
DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department
BCC DISTRICT:
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request to schedule a public hearing on July 15, 2014 regarding
proposed amendment of the tourist development plan.
BACKGROUND: Pursuant to F.S. 125.0104(4)(c), the County has previously approved and
adopted a tourist development ordinance setting forth the plan for tourist development. In order
to substantially amend the plan of tourist development, F.S. 125.0104(4)(d) requires an
ordinance enacted by an affirmative vote of a majority plus one additional member of the Board.
The primary purpose of this amendment is to update the plan to identify funding for aquariums
and museums as an appropriate use of tourist development tax revenues, and to update revenue
projections under each percentage point.
The TDC recommended approval of this amendment to the tourist development plan ordinance
at its meeting on June 26.
OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove
RECOMMENDATION: Approve public hearing to convene on or after 9:00 am on July 15,

SUBJECT: ECCC Floor Plan & Capacities Brochure Update – payment approval
DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department
BCC DISTRICT:
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of payment in the amount of $760 to Life’s A
Beach for design work to incorporate Bayview Plaza on the Floor Plan & Capacities brochure for
the ECCC sales kit.
BACKGROUND: At the time services were engaged for the design work, staff thought payment
would be made via credit card due to the dollar amount of the purchase. After services were
performed and the invoice was received, the vendor advised he does not accept credit card
payments.
At this point, there is no method to pay the vendor in accordance with County purchasing policy
now that the work has been performed without a prior arrangement for payment. Board approval
is requested to pay the vendor.
OPTIONS: Approve or Disapprove
RECOMMENDATION: Approve payment in the amount of $760 to Life’s A Beach for design
