BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: June 18, 2013
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Elliot Kampert
SUBJECT: Appoint Alternate Representative to Military Sustainability Partnership
DEPARTMENT: Growth Management
BCC DISTRICT: All
ISSUE: The Northwest Florida Military Sustainability Partnership (MSP) was created by Interlocal
Agreement among eleven member jurisdictions on April 19, 2011.
The Interlocal Agreement establishing and governing this organization provides for a representative to the
Executive Committee to be appointed by each member jurisdiction, as well as an Alternate representative.
Okaloosa County is the lead agency and the Okaloosa County representative serves as the Chairman of
the Executive Committee heading the Partnership.
Commissioner Wayne Harris was appointed as the primary representative and Chairman of the
Partnership, with Commissioner Bill Roberts as the Alternate representative. Now that the Board has new
members from the November 2012 election, a new Alternate is needed to replace former Commissioner
Roberts.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board appoint a replacement for Bill Roberts to
serve as the Alternate representative to the MSP Executive Committee.
