BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 1, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Paul Lawson SUBJECT: Resolution Adopting the Updated Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Approve the updated 2015 Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) as the official Okaloosa County disaster preparedness and response plan by adopting the resolution. BACKGROUND: The Department of Homeland Security and the State of Florida have mandated that local plans must comply with State of Florida planning criteria and the National Incident Management System. The Okaloosa County CEMP is maintained and updated by Okaloosa County Public Safety. It is reviewed for compliance with Florida Statute 252 and planning criteria by the Florida Division of Emergency Management every four years. OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove the CEMP. RECOMMENDATIONS: Authorize the Chairman to sign the resolution adopting the updated Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan as the official disaster plan for Okaloosa County. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
