Abell, Senior Planner Subject: Requesting a Continuance for Ordinance 1757 The Department of Community Development Services ( CDS) respectfully requests that the City Council continue the adoption hearing for Ordinance 1757, amending the Comprehensive Plan to adopt a Public School Facilities Element, until the Council' s next regular meeting on August 26, 2008. The Municipal Planning Board/ Local Planning Agency LPA made a formal recommendation on this ordinance March 20, 2008. On August 7, 2008, the LPA considered the Objections, Recommendations and Comments ( ORC) Report issued by the Department of Community Affairs prior to Council' s adoption hearing; CDS Staff provided the ORC Report and back- up for the Board' s general comment and for public input, and advertised accordingly. Dr. Bill Smith, representing the School Board, will be unable to attend on August 12th, as he has a conflict, however he will be able to attend the August 26th meeting. In consideration of this, and to meet all advertising requirements, Staff respectfully requests a continuance of Ordinance 1757 to August 26, 2008.
