SUBJECT: Ambulance Purchase Request FY 14

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to purchase 4 new Chevrolet G-4500 ambulances
off of the Florida State Sheriff and Fire Bid #11-10-1202 from Quality Emergency Vehicle Sales
and Service, Inc., (Lecanto, FL) at a cost of $141,350.00 each for a total of $565,400.00. This is
a competitive bid open to all State and Local agencies. We have purchased 16 ambulances from
this firm and are satisfied with the quality and operation of those units.
BACKGROUND: Funding for this purchase is provided for in the EMS FY 14 Budget,
Account #4500-564211.
OPTIONS: Approve or reject.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The bid prices have been reviewed and recommendation is made to
purchase the ambulances from Quality Emergency Vehicles Sales and Service, Inc., for
$565,400.00.
