Busk Subject: Re: FDIG Reuse Project Summary 12 -01 -08 John- pleased to assist. I believe I can add value in terms of Tallahassee political landscape in the drafting process. I would suggest addressing letter to the Governor and copying the others ( addresses below). Secondly, mailing the letters will delay them by several weeks in various mail rooms at the Capitol and most likely they will never be seen by the right people. It would be my suggestion and offer to hand deliver them on behalf of the Council in Tallahassee. Addresses are as follows: Governor Charlie Crist State of Florida The Capitol 400 S. Monroe St. Tallahassee, FL 32399 -0001 The Honorable Michael W. If possible, can you provide me with a list of all the people that should be addressed in the letter, including their mailing addresses, titles, etc.? I' ve been working with our local group, Northwest Florida Utilities, on this very issue, so I have a fairly good idea on how to craft this letter. I' ll make sure I forward a draft to you for review before we finalize it for Council. Thanks again for your assistance. Busk Cc: Robert Mearns Subject: Re: FDIG Reuse Project Summary 12 -01 -08 Mayor- DEP Secretary Mike Sole is coordinating environmental projects as it relates with federal stimulus funds. I recommend John draft a letter for the Councils consideration requesting consideration for stimulus funds to complete the Hurlburt Reuse project. we are happy to work collectively with John and Bob to draft the letter. As discussed I believe the project selling points are that the majority of the project is completed, it is a proactive " greening" project and it will be helpful as it relates to next round of BRAC. The letter should be addressed to The Governor with CC' s to Mike and to Dale Brill (director of OTTED)who is the Economic Development point on the Governor's office and will most likely be coordinating BRAC efforts and George Roberts, of Panama City who is the Chair of Northwest Florida Water Management District Slater Original Message - - - -- From: Mike Anderson < manderson@fwb.org> To: Slater Bayliss; Sarah J. It should include all of the information you asked for with the exception of the State Departments/ Personnel we've talked to regarding funding. We've discussed funding for this project in the past with the Northwest Florida Water Management District (Ron Bartel and Paul Thorpe) and the Governor's Office of Tourism Trade and Economic Development, OTTED. The discussions with OTTED were routed through our local EDC office and Mr. Larry Sassano and Mr. Jim Breitenfeld. We've not specifically discussed this project with anyone that I can think of with FDEP. Hope this helps ...let me know if you need anything else. John H.
