Discussion included whether or not the scope of.the committee should be limited as to the testing of waterways and
wetlands. The City Manager advised that while the committee could explore issues and have opinions about matters
regarding waterways and wet1andsJ the actual testing should remain with City staff. .She informed the committee
needs to have a narrow scope; otherwise, the purpose becomes confused and the committee could lose its focus as to
the real issue.
Further discussion included the fact that the cominittee would be. conducted under the Sunshine Law, ensuring the
general public would be informed and able to participate; that the committee would report their findings to Council
and not to other boards or committees; and that the meetings would include staff support.
Charlene Greenwald, 207 Jetbrive, received clarification as to the purpose of the proposed Ad-Hoc Committee.
The Mayor called for the vote on the motion and it carried unanimously with Holmes, Patterson, Campbell,
Tucker, Pollen, Kelley, and Anderson in favor.
