BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 5, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: James Puckett SUBJECT: Payment to W3 Engineering Inc for HVAC Design Services DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance BCC DISTRICT: 1 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Approve payment to W3 Engineering Inc. for the design of the HVAC System in the Walthall Building renovation. BACKGROUND: The change in direction with the construction of the Crestview Courthouse prompted the need to expedite the renovation of the Walthall Building on Old Bethel Road. In an effort to complete the construction as soon as possible staff contacted a outside vendor to look at and design the HVAC Systems in what will be the new offices for Purchasing, Human Resources and Risk Management. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, a Purchase Order was not prepared and issued to the vendor prior to performing these tasks. With no Purchase Order, payment to W3 Engineering Inc for the repairs must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. The design and layout was prepared and request for payment for these design services was received. The total cost of the services is $2,300.00. OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove payment to W3 Engineering Inc for Design Service of the HVAC systems at the Walthall Building on Old Bethel Road. RECOMMENDATIONS: Request approval of payment to W3 Engineering Inc for Design Service of the HVAC systems at the Walthall Building on Old Bethel Road in the amount of $2,300.00.
