BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: February 2, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Tracy Stage SUBJECT: Approval of Settlement Agreement with Crosby Ice DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Airports requests the Board of County Commissioners approve the Settlement Agreement between the County and Crosby Ice, LLC (Crosby). BACKGROUND: The County entered into a five (5) year agreement with Crosby Ice, LLC, on December 6, 2012 to provide an industrial ice machine to support airlines operating at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport for the requirement to provide ice for each departing flight at a cost of $1,200 per month. The airlines no longer utilize the ice machine due to sanitary concerns and have opted to collectively outsource the services and contract direct. The Settlement Agreement relieves the County from the remainder of the contract period and monthly payments. The County shall pay $27,000.00 to Crosby Ice in which the County and Crosby Ice are satisfied with the terms of the agreement to end the contract. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the Board approve the Settlement Agreement with Crosby Ice, LLC, and payment to Crosby Ice in the amount of $27,000.
