DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing requests Board approval to begin contract negotiation with Trinity Food Services, Inc. for inmate food services. (RFP COR 75-16) BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: A request for proposals (RFP) was due on August 25, 2016 for a vendor to provide inmate food services for the jail and four (4) vendors submitted proposals. Purchasing staff facilitated the publicly advertised Review Committee meeting on September 12, 2016. The Review Committee made a recommendation to move forward with contract negotiations with Trinity Food Services, Inc. as the highest ranked vendor. Staff has found their proposal to be fully responsive. Staff requests Board approval to begin contract negotiations with Trinity Food Services, Inc. The proposed contract will be brought back before the Board for approval. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny authorization to begin contract negotiation with Trinity Food Services, Inc. for inmate food services at the jail. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to begin contract negotiation with Trinity Food Services, Inc. for inmate food services at the jail. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
