He stated Okaloosa County had a total of 393 total arrests during Spring Break. Mrs. Ketchel said this is the kind of collaborative efforts we like to see for the community: the Sheriff's Department made a huge difference, the County was able to help fund it, and Judiciary made an effort to see the kids were bonded out. She thanked the Sheriff's Department for it's efforts. Mr. Boyles echoed Mrs. Ketchel' s remarks and stated the Corrections staff worked effectively and efficiently as a team which is appreciated. Mr. Stefan Vaughn, Chief Corrections Officer, said in conjunction with the Sheriff's Office, Corrections worked to create a proactive plan to mitigate the influx of inmates into the jail to reduce the workload on Corrections staff, Pretrial Services, and First Appearance Judges. He said they collected approximately $80, 000 in cash and professional bonds during the five-week period and stated the average time for fast-track was 48.4 minutes. Mr. Peacock stated a news report from Panama City reflected a significant impact on their tourist related revenues.
