The condensing unit has three ( 3) coils within the unit. The unit was inspected by Johnson Peaden Engineering, Inc to detennine the problem the library was having with the air conditioning system. The inspection detertnined that all three coils of the condensing unit had deteriorated beyond repair and required replacement. This deterioration is caused from salt on the coils. The new condensing unit coils will be coated with " Ecoat", a special coating for seacoast application. This coating will provide better protection with the proximity to the coast. SUMMARY Pursuant to City of Fort Walton Beach Code of Ordinances, Volume II, Chapter 4, Section 4.01, Paragraph 4.01. 025 and the Purchasing Policies and Procedures, request authorization to award Bid No. 07- 116, Purchase of Library AC Condensing Unit,to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Air Conditioning Engineers of Fort Walton Beach, for the bid amount of $55, 086. If approved, funds are available in CIP account # 001- 5069- 571- 6997 ($ 50,000) and Passport account # 001- 1060- 571- 5223 ($ 5, 100). Recommend the City Council award Bid # 07- 116 - Library AC Condensing Unit replacement to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Air Conditioning Engineers of Fort Walton Beach, at the bid amount of $55, 086.00.
