BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 18, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Tracy Stage SUBJECT: Cellular South Real Estate Lease Termination DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Airports Department requests approval by the Board of County Commissioners to terminate the lease agreement with Cellular South Real Estate, Inc. (L09- 0351-AP). BACKGROUND: On November 18, 2008 the Board approved a lease with Cellular South Real Estate, Inc. to provide cellular service throughout the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport. On September 1, 2016 the Airport received a letter from Cellular South requesting termination of the Lease effective September 30, 2016. Cellular South is in full compliance with the Lease and Cellular South also made their September payment. Cellular South's request letter and current lease is attached for your review. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table. RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve Cellular South's request to terminate the Lease. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
