BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 5, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Anderson Columbia Contract Amendment Two (2) to reduce millings price DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Anderson Columbia contract amendment number two (2) which will temporarily reduce the price of delivered asphalt millings from $25.00 to $15.00 per ton. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Public Works Department received a notification from Anderson Columbia that could reduce the price of asphalt millings delivered to Baker Pit. Due to the excess on hand Anderson Columbia was able to offer a reduced price for delivered millings for which the contract price is $25.00 per ton. Contract Amendment number two (2) will reduce the contracted rate to $15.00 per ton delivered to the Baker Pit on Keyser Mill Road. Upon approval/signature date of this amendment the reduced rate will run through May 31, 2016 at which time the price will revert back to the original contract price. The price reduction will allow Public Works staff to recognize a cost savings on milling projects. Staff requests Board approval of contract Amendment number two (2) and authorization for the Chairman to sign the document. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny Anderson Columbia contract Amendment number two (2) to temporarily reduce the price of delivered asphalt millings from $25.00 to $15.00 per ton and authorize the Chairman to sign the document. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of Anderson Columbia contract amendment to temporarily reduce the price of delivered asphalt millings and authorize the Chairman to sign the document.
