BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request Approval of Bid For Jail Parking Lot Repair DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Seeking approval to award the bid for the jail parking lot repairs. (PW 12-15) BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Public Works Department assisted Corrections with the bid process to acquire a contractor to repair damage to the jail parking lot which was caused by heavy rains during a storm event in April 2014. Bids were due on December 10, 2014 and two (2) bids were received. The Public Works Department reviewed the bids and determined the lowest most responsive bidder was Northwest Florida Land Clearing, Inc. with a total bid of $68,119.15. Staff requests Board approval to award the bid to Northwest Florida Land Clearing, Inc. A contract will be developed and brought back before the Board for approval. The funding for this repair is being tracked through the natural disasters fund as designated by the Clerk. This project has been submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and is eligible for reimbursement. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny award of bid to Northwest Florida Land Clearing, Inc. for repairs to the jail parking lot for a bid total of $68,119.15. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of bid to Northwest Florida Land Clearing, Inc. for repairs to the jail parking lot for a bid total of $68,119.15.
