READING DATE 1st L 2nd C akai ORDINANCE 2069 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 14 ROBINWOOD DRIVE SW, DESCRIBED HEREIN, TO BACKRIDGE TREE SERVICE, INC., AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CLOSURE BY THE MAYOR, CITY MANAGER, CITY ATTORNEY, AND CITY CLERK; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the City Council previously deemed 14 Robinwood Drive SW Property") as surplus property and advertised it for sale; WHEREAS, on August 11, 2020, City Council approved the terms of a sales contract to convey the Property in the amount of$201, 900 to Backridge Tree Service, Inc.; WHEREAS, pursuant City of Fort Walton Beach Code of Ordinances, to Section 2. 00.05, the City Council must convey any surplus real property via ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Property will be transferred to Backridge Tree Service, Inc. for the purchase price of$ 201, 900 upon adoption of the Ordinance transferring the property on second reading and closing and recording of the deed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY& INTENT. The authority for enactment of this ordinance is contained in Section 2. 00.05 of the Code of Ordinances. The City intends to transfer City-owned property located at 14 Robinwood Drive SW to Backridge Tree Service, Inc. The City has no future need for the property and has obtained an independent fair-market appraisal. The property is an approximately 0. 85- acre parcel located at 14 Robinwood Drive SW and has Parcel ID No. 14- 2S- 24- 0101- 0000- 0040. SECTION 2. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION. The property located at 14 Robinwood Drive SW to be transferred consists of the following parcel: Lot 4, Robinwood Municipal Subdivision, as more particularly described in the deed. SECTION 3. DISPOSITION OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY The disposition of the City- owned property at 14 Robinwood Drive SW will occur via execution by both parties of a Sales Contract and recording of a Special Warranty Deed as attached ( Exhibit A). SECTION 4. FINDINGS. The City Council of Fort Walton Beach finds that the contract award is made based upon consideration of best price and utilization of the property and development for uses benefiting the City and its citizens.  SECTION 5.
