with Embarq and the City of Fort Walton Beach,
will also construct a demonstration rain garden that will provide for stormwater storage and nutrient
cycling, while serving as a model of Florida Friendly landscaping techniques that can be easily
replicated by homeowners. The demonstration rain garden will also fulfill the public education
requirements of the City's NPDES (stormwater) permit.
With Council approval, on May 14`', 2008 the placement of the disc golf course and the installation
of the rain garden will be accomplished by Embarq volunteers, CBA staff and City employees.
RECOMMENDATION:
Request Council' s approval in accepting funds in the amount of $5, 000 from Embarq through the
Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance for the installation of a 9 -hole Disc Golf Course and Rain
