City of Marianna - Sunland / Industrial Park Sewer System
1n itrtz rrz, Florida
HMM was retained by the City of Marianna to evaluate the sewer
system from the Marianna Industrial Park area to the Wastewater
Treatment Facility. The study area, referred to as the
Sunland/ Industrial Park Sewer System," was constructed during three
periods of time. The initial construction provided service to Graham
Air Force Base ( currently Sunland Training Center), the second phase
was constructed as part of the Industrial Park expansion, and the third
phase was a pump station/force main system constructed to eliminate
the Sunland WWTP by diverting the flow to the Marianna WWTP.

City of Panama City Sewer Modeling
Pftrtruna City, f7orida
The purpose of this project was to perform sewer force main modeling
of the City of Panama City Pump Station 34. The pump station receives
flows from five (5) force mains with a total combined flow of 2, 083
gallons per minute (gpm) and a small gravity flow from the Panama
City -Bay County International Airport. Scope of work included force
main network modeling involving multiple pump stations pumping into
a common force main,
available alternatives, future conditions impact, and recommendation on
future course of action.

Marianna Inflow /Infiltration Evaluation Assistance
1 1arianna, Flan i°da
The purpose of this project was to perform a preliminary excessive infiltration
and inflow (I /I) analysis on the City of Marianna Wastewater Collection and
Transmission Systems.
Since the 1960s, the City of Marianna has provided wastewater collection and
treatment services to the commercial and residential population within and
around the City. The existing Marianna Wastewater Treatment Facility is
permitted to treat 2. 7 million gallons per day ( MGD) of wastewater. In 1997
and 1998, the facility received flow exceeding the design and hydraulic
capacities. These high flows, coupled with other features of the facility, have
created operational difficulties that ultimately led to the execution of a Consent
Order. Among other stipulations, the Consent Order requires the monthly
average daily flow (MADF) from the facility to be 2. 7 MGD until the proposed
WWTF expansion ( currently in construction phase) is complete.
In March 2003, after several years of drought conditions, the City experienced
several heavy rain events, which caused the MADF to exceed the permitted 2. 7
MGD; this had the potential of triggering a moratorium on any new
commercial sewer connections. The City took a pro- active approach and
retained services of Hatch Mott MacDonald to assist the City in conducting a
preliminary excessive I/I analysis.

Millville Wastewater Treatment Plant Inflow /Infiltration Evaluation
Panarlut Cith, Ilorida
The purpose of this report is to identify infiltration/ inflow (I /I) sources
and provide recommendations for reducing 1/ I within the Millville
Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) service area. 1/ I is expected in all
sewer systems; however, due to the age ( dating back to the 1920' s) and
type of construction material throughout much of the Millville sewer
system, I/I has increased sewer flows to " excessive" limits. The
increased flows can overload the sewer collection and treatment systems,
increase operational cost, and increase the potential for a sewer overflow,
which poses a threat to public health and safety and to the environment.

Hatch Mott MacDonald completed a water and sewer master plan for the
499 -unit development known as SummerCamp. After the water master
plan was completed, Hatch Mott MacDonald designed the water supply,
treatment, storage, pumping and distribution systems. This included two
125 GPM wells, the first nano -filtration (membrane) water treatment
plant permitted by the Northwest District of FDEP, a 150,000 gallon
ground storage tank and a high service pump station. The system is
designed to add another well, another membrane train and a second
ground storage tank.

The staff of Hatch Mott MacDonald., designed the expansion to the T.P.
Smith Wastewater TreatmentFacility in 1977. The 1977 design
constructed in 1982) expanded the facility from 10. 0 MGD to 17. 5
MGD. Features in 1977 included primary clarifiers, sludge thickening
and sludge de- watering.

ECUA Southwest Escambia County and Perdido Key Force Main
System Study
Escambia Countr. I- orida
%
This project involved the development a 20 -year master sewer plan for
the Southwest area of Escambia County. Included with the project were
recommendations for improvements, phasing requirements and growth
projects for the area.
The Escambia County Utilities Authority (ECUA) manages water and
wastewater systems for the residents of Escambia County and the City of
Pensacola. The ECUA system area is subdivided into 5 Regional
Service Areas for response time and management optimization. The
Southwest portion of the County is designated as ECUA' s Region 5, and
includes ECUA' s systems west of Fairfield Drive and south of the Bayou
Marcus Water Reclamation Facility, located just north of the intersection
of Blue Angel Parkway and Lillian Highway. The objective of this study
is to identify wastewater force main system deficiencies within ECUA' s
Region 5 and provide recommendations for system improvements for the
present, near future and ultimate wastewater flow projections.
Obtaining existing ECUA system mapping, lift station and force main
inventory and operational parameters was the initial step in the study.
ECUA' s most current system mapping, as -built information and field
monitoring data were compiled for ECUA' s existing force main system
in Region 5. System as -built information and USGS quadrangle
information were used to develop system topographical parameters.
Population projections and associated wastewater flow for future system
demands were estimated and broken down into FDOT PUATS Traffic
Analysis Zones to best identify future growth within the study area.
Escambia County Drainage Basin Maps were used in conjunction with
ECUA' s current system mapping to best approximate future wastewater
flow distribution within Region 5.
